FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between this online store and another health food store?
A: “Consciouseating.ca” is different from other health food stores by its consciousness to carefully choose the ultimate foods on the market. We encourage you to read “Our quality standards” at “Our Philosophy”.
Q: Why buy fair trade products?
A: “Purchasing fair trade” signifies purchasing products or services where workers receive a fair and appropriate salary for the work done and operate in decent conditions in accordance with ethical standards. Allowing the import of products manufactured by underpaid workers condemn us to adopt the same work conditions for ourselves someday.
Q: Why do you say that food can be our medicine?
A: Because Mother Nature is generous. True natural organic or wild food has medicinal effects on the body. Depending on our family genetics, with a specific diet, we can heal or avoid some illnesses. For example, if there are antecedents of diabetes or high cholesterol in one’s family, it may be possible to reverse or avoid these problems by choosing the right food. Expanding one’s knowledge is key to achieving an appropriate diet and lead a better life. For instance, some healthy foods are goitrogens – such as broccoli, cabbage, mustard, cauliflower, kale, turnip, canola oil, soy, pine nuts, peanuts, millet… – which suppress thyroid function. If someone has a pre-condition (early stage) of hypothyroidism, limiting the intake or eliminating these foods altogether might be appropriate depending on the seriousness of the thyroid condition. On the other hand, if someone has hyperthyroidism, the goitrogenic foods might be a good option to inhibit thyroid production. It is important to really know your health condition by visiting your doctor and follow the appropriate diet to plentifully enjoy your life. Q: Who are you guys and why do you do this?
A: ConsciousEating.ca is managed by a visionary family with the aim to provide toxin-free, GMO-free, organic or wild, quality food to Canadians. We are thus supporting organic family farms and businesses, believing that there is an urgent need to stop the overuse of pesticides and fungicides found in food. These poisons are responsible for the wanton destruction of our wonderful body and planet. We invite you to read “Our Philosophy”.
